Here's a question...
Enterprise PDM and Workgroup PDM will both be released when 2010 SolidWorks is released. A friend of mine wants to upgrade to 2010 SolidWorks and the version of SmarTeam that will work with 2010 SolidWorks but was informed that SmarTeam won't work with 2010 SolidWorks until "The
current target is for SmarTeam to release R19 SP7 in week 7 of 2010, which
will be compatible with SolidWorks 2010."
Why?

I've run into a few people who have invested so heavily in SmarTeam that they can't get rid of it, but it holds them back severely. Ed Cyganik was one. Steve Calvert is another just off the top of my head.
I think they have been using it from long before EPDM was available, back in the days when SmarTeam was considered THE high end PDM for SW.

It can be like an old car that is out of date and worn out. Sometimes you just have to cut your loses and move on.
